Maria Batey (Fowler) - Founder & Director
Maria Batey is the founder of Bloom Reformer Studio and a passionate advocate for women’s wellness, confidence, and self-connection. As a mum of two young daughters, she knows the emotional and physical toll that comes with constantly putting others first. Her own journey, from feeling disconnected in motherhood to rediscovering her strength through movement inspired the creation of Bloom.
With a background in body confidence coaching, content creation, and women’s empowerment, Maria has built a strong voice around helping women reclaim their sense of self. Her experience working with women of all shapes, stages, and stories shines through in the inclusive and uplifting atmosphere at Bloom.
Maria is a qualified Reformer Pilates instructor, and she brings her signature blend of encouragement, honesty, and real-life perspective to every class. Bloom is more than a studio -it’s a space shaped by Maria’s belief that every woman deserves to feel strong, supported, and at home in her body.

Megan Abbott - Operations & Reformer Instructor
Megan is a valued part of the Bloom family, bringing warmth, dedication, and a deep understanding of what our community needs. While she’s a newer face in the world of Reformer Pilates instruction, she’s been a committed class member for years- giving her a natural, relatable teaching style that resonates with every client.
Outside of the studio space, Megan plays an essential role behind the scenes, managing key aspects of Bloom’s accounts and operations. Her organisational skills and attention to detail keep everything running smoothly, helping us deliver the high-quality experience our members know and love.
With Megan, you get more than just an instructor -you get someone who lives and breathes Bloom, both in and out of the studio.

Jane Bass - Reformer Instructor
With nearly 25 years in the fitness industry, Jane brings energy, experience, and a whole lot of heart to every class she teaches. A Level 3 qualified Personal Trainer and Yoga instructor, Jane spent 20 years at David Lloyd, where she wore many hats- Membership Manager, Sales Consultant, Group Fitness Instructor, and Personal Trainer. She’s taught everything from Body Attack to Zumba, Senior Circuits to Clubbercise - and everything in between.
Jane’s passion for movement is infectious. In fact, ten years ago, it was through Jane’s classes that our founder, Maria, discovered (and fell in love with) group exercise making Jane the perfect fit for the Bloom family.
Her classes are fun, social, and empowering, bringing women together in a space where laughter is just as important as strength. Whether you’re a beginner or a regular mover, Jane has a way of making you feel seen, supported, and confident in your own body.
Based in Mickleover, Jane juggles life as a wife to David, mum to two grown boys, a step son and Alfie the dog and also co-owner of Bass Removals.
